The Overload Committee is legally represented by Anime NZ Ltd.
Responsibility of Artists
The Overload Committee is not responsible for any copyright and/or trademark infringements made by registered Artists. Any legal action that may result from copyright and/or trademark infringement is the sole responsibility of the Artist.
The Overload Committee reserves the right to remove items from the event at their discretion if piracy or bootlegging is suspected, or for any other legal or compliance reasons.
Artists are not permitted to sell professionally produced, trademarked, or commercially available products unless these products are their own intellectual property.
As Overload 2017 is attended by all ages, the Overload Committee requires that all Artists take care to appropriately censor their publicly displayed work.
All artists must observe and comply with the rules and regulations concerning Health and Safety of both the Overload Committee and Venue Management (Development Auckland Ltd)
While all care is taken, the Overload Committee takes no responsibility for lost or stolen property. Any transactions made between Artists and customers are entirely the responsibility of said parties, not the Overload Committee.
If the Overload Committee cancels the Artist’s Registration under this clause it shall not be liable to pay the Artist any compensation for loss or damage and will have no further legal obligations with respect to the Artist.
Limitation of Liability
The Overload Committee shall not be held liable for any failure to perform its obligations under the Artist Registration Agreement where such failure is due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Overload Committee.
Without limiting any exclusion of the Overload Committee’s liability under the Artist Registration Agreement, the Overload Committee’s maximum aggregate liability shall not exceed the total amount payable by the Licensee in respect to the Registration fee in the Artist Registration Agreement.
The Overload Committee shall not be held liable for any loss of profits or any consequential, indirect or special loss, damage or injury of any kind whatsoever suffered by the Licensee arising directly or indirectly from any breach of any of the Overload Committee’s obligations under or in connection with this Contract or from any cancellation of this Agreement or from any negligence, misrepresentation or other act or omission on the part of the Overload Committee, its employees, agents, volunteers or contractors.
Items permitted for sale at Overload 2017
All items sold at an Overload or Merchandise Table must be self-published and/or self-produced. Overload is about self-published comic art, illustrations and Manga and we would like to keep the focus of the event on this. Due to the multiple requests to permit the various items to be sold, the committee decided to establish the Merchandise Table option.
Artists who book an ‘Overload Table’ are permitted to sell ONLY the following types of items:
|Manga / Comics / Novels||Artbooks / Paintings|
|Cosplay Photos / Calendars||Posters / Postcards|
|Bookmarks / Stickers||Laminated key chains|
|Anime / Video Games||Visual Novels (Electronic medium)|
Artists who book a ‘Merchandise Table’ are permitted to sell any or all of the above as well as the following:
|Figurines||Clay & Acrylic Key Chains|
If you wish to sell any items not listed above, or sell commercially-made merchandise, please email [email protected]
Damages to the Venue
To avoid damage, no items are to be attached, pinned, stapled, screwed or adhered to the door or wall surfaces within the venue without prior approval of Overload Committee.
Please carefully inspect your table and the surrounding area prior to setup. Any damage to walls, floors, pillars and windows should be pointed out to Overload Committee at this time.
If no damage is mentioned to Overload Committee prior to setup we shall take this as implicit confirmation that the area is undamaged.
Any damage done in the vicinity of the table space during the course of Overload 2017, any associated repair costs, and consequential financial loss to Development Auckland/Overload Committee, are the responsibility of the Artist.
The venue is a non-smoking area at all times.
Absolutely no flames, naked or contained, will be allowed at the venue.
All heat sources including cigarettes must be kept away from The Cloud synthetic wall material.
Weapons, dangerous goods, alcohol and animals are prohibited at the venue.
Please keep your area as clean and tidy as possible.
Do not place items in front of, or block, the fire exits.
Any devices which can trigger the fire alarm are prohibited.
Occupational Health and Safety
Anime NZ Ltd is not responsible for any injuries to Artists and/or members of the public, or for any costs incurred in such an event.
There are no refunds if you cancel or change your table booking, e.g. if you choose to change your table from a Merchandise Table to an Overload Table, no refunds will be given.
In the event of a cancellation your table may be offered to other Artists.
