Project : What is Manga?

Welcome to Overload Committee’s What is Manga? project! A project we presented at Japan Day 2019 (March 3rd, at Eden Park, Auckland). This project was intended to provide clear and interesting information for New Zealanders who want to know more about Manga. A huge thanks to the Japan Day Committee who gave us the opportunity to present this project, and our sponsors – VIZ Media and Graphic Novel Cafe, and the Overload Committee volunteers who worked very long hours to complete it: Enid Hu, Christina Jiang & Masashi Takahashi!

The following What is Manga? video was made by the Overload Committee for New Zealanders who are not familiar with Manga. There are three parts – What is Manga?, The Appeal of Manga and A Short History of Manga

Graphic Design: Christina Jiang. Video Creation and Editing: Masashi Takahashi. Music: www.bensound.com

This is an 8 page “Mini-Manga” by Enid Hu, which shows you how you can make manga. We hope that after reading this, people will use their creative imagination to make local manga. If you do, please don’t forget to share them with us! This “Mini-Manga” production was supported by VIZ Media and Graphic Novel Cafe. Character Design: Christina Jiang.

Manga Fun Facts!

This video was made by the Overload Committee to share interesting facts about Manga with Kiwis. We were as surprised as you will be at some of the things we discovered while making it!
